333 word rationale (animation Ident)

This project consisted of producing a 3D animation identification for a fictional cabal channel that holds audience interest in the interval between shows slots. To create my animation ident I used a program called 3ds Max. My animation ident is for a fictional children’s TV station called ‘Big Splat Toonz’. My reason for the choice of name is because I think ‘Big Splat Toonz’ would appeal to my targeted audience, children from the ages 5-13. In terms of using the 3dsMax software I really enjoyed using it; however from other animation examples I have seen I realize how vast this program is and how basic I am at using this software at this time. However I am keen on learning the program further. One thing I didn’t like about it is the frustration it creates as I’m so new to using 3dsMax, for example when something went wrong I seemed to restart from the beginning because I had no idea on how to re correct anything. Such as if I moved a part of my animation and it was in the completely wrong place sometimes it ruined the animation and I couldn’t un-do my mistake every time which was a pain. In terms of being so new to 3dsMax, I am really happy with what I have produced; I think the use of colors is attractive to look at, that would grab the attention of my young audience which is purposely designed to keep the audience watching this fictional TV station. I decided to create a cartoon character that scattered across the screen between the texts added into the animation. My main purpose of this was to entertain and engage my audience. The good thing about the character I produced is it doesn’t grab your entire attention but it keeps you entertained and makes you read the text that stands out as it appears big and bold, purposely placed in the center of the screen making it really easy to read and remember.
